Mr Alexiou known to his close friends as ‘Mani’ completed his legal studies at the College of Law, and Lincoln’s Inn, London, England in 1973. He obtained his undergraduate degree in 1967 from Case Western University, Ohio, U.S.A. and a graduate degree from the University of Toronto, Ontario Canada. He was admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Bar of England and Wales in 1973, and the Turks and Caicos Bar in 1974.
Mr Alexiou’s legal practice began in the mid-70s, which grew steadily. By 1976 he was joined by the late Emerick Knowles, QC, and shortly thereafter by E. Terry North. The partnership was formed and became formally known as ‘Alexiou, Knowles & Co’. Over the decades, the firm has grown and evolved with the changing times and has become an established contender in the modern legal landscape.
Mr Alexiou has also held many other professional positions over the years including, director of Banque Privee Edmund de Rothschild, (Bahamas) Limited; director of Hang Seng (Bahamas) Limited; director of Hang Seng Bank & Trust (Bahamas) Limited; Executive Vice-Chairman of the Board of Colina Holdings Company Limited, a publicly traded company; director of Colina Financial Advisors Limited, and publisher and director of the Nassau Guardian (1844) Limited.
